A Message From The

Executive Director

Welcome to the LACDA Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-2023 Year End Highlights (YEH).

This FY was one of celebration! We celebrated the agency’s 40th anniversary with staff, County partners, and agency retirees gathering to recognize the successes and contributions the LACDA has made throughout the County since its formation in 1982. We celebrated the launch of new programs and initiatives designed to help small businesses thrive and senior homeowners improve their property to help preserve their personal independence. Most importantly, we celebrated the change the agency is making in local communities. Affordable housing is being built at record pace, public facility improvements are underway, and families throughout the County received supportive services to locate housing, improve job readiness, and send their children back to school well equipped to learn.

While it is important to appreciate the great strides the agency has made, we would be remiss to not acknowledge the work that is still to be done. With over 75,000 persons currently experiencing homelessness, the LACDA remains committed to exploring every State, Federal and local option to help people secure housing. We look forward to collaborating with other County agencies to align our goals and pool our resources to support the County’s small business community still trying to regain footing following three years of instability. Finally, we will continue to work with our legislators to craft policies and regulations that allow agency’s like the LACDA to not only do its job, but do it efficiently.

Thank you LACDA employees, Board members, and community partners for 40 years of Building Better Lives and Better Neighborhoods. I look forward to seeing where we go from here!
