Congressman Jimmy Gomez and Congressman Pete Aguilar visit the Nueva Maravilla Public Housing Community.

Executive Director Emilio Salas, Chief of Programs Tracie Mann, and staff from the Communications and Public Affairs Unit traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with members of the Los Angeles County Congressional Delegation, including Congresswoman Judy Chu, representatives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and County advocates to discuss the agency’s most notable statutory, regulatory, and appropriations requests.

Each year, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, their designated staff, and other County officials travel to Washington, D.C. to hold advocacy meetings. The purpose of this trip is to meet with Federal elected and appointed officials to discuss legislative priorities and regulatory issues affecting Los Angeles County. LACDA Executive Director Emilio Salas was proud to accompany the Board members and speak to the County’s efforts to increase affordable housing and enhance homeless services.
