In an effort to assist restaurants affected by the COVID-19 restrictions, Los Angeles County launched the Keep LA County Dining Grant Program, which provided $30,000 to use as working capital for employee payroll expenses, capital to continue operations, payment of outstanding business expenses, and adaptive business practices needed to remain open.

The COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately impacted certain industries more than others. The LACDA launched two rounds of the Small Business Revitalization Program to assist breweries with no kitchen, wineries with no kitchen, miniature golf parks, batting cage facilities, kart racing centers, and tanning salons in Los Angeles County.

The County and the City of Los Angeles came together to create a $60 million LA Regional COVID-19 Recovery Fund. The fund offers loan and grant resources to micro-entrepreneurs, small businesses, and non-profits. The LACDA is proud to be a partner in this valuable resource.

As of June 30, 2021, in the County of Los Angeles (excluding the City of Los Angeles), 4,320 grantees have received over $60.7 million.

September 14 - 25, 2020

The Los Angeles County COVID-19 CARES Act Childcare Grant Program provided grants of $10,000 or $40,000 to eligible childcare operators in Los Angeles County that had been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Economic Development Administration Grant

In August 2020, the U.S. Economic Development Administration awarded $38 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Recovery Assistance grants to 14 Revolving Loan Funds (RLF) grantees, including the LACDA.

The agency received $10.9 million to administer an RLF that extends credit to small businesses in Los Angeles County and augments existing business recovery assistance programs to prevent job losses and closure. Under the Small Business Stabilization Loan created under the grant, the LACDA approved 26 loans valued at over $9 million, and issued 20 loans valued at over $6.5 million.
